Shane Warne’s on and off the field antics could soon be turned into a movie, it has been revealed.

TV bosses are in talks to make Shane Warne: The Movie, which could feature his romance with his fiancee Elizabeth Hurley, the Mirror reported.

According to sources, his cricket career and stormy private life are ready-made for movie treatment, and Australia’s Channel 9 has confirmed its interest.

The movie based on the 42-year-old cricketer’s life – beset by scandals including allegations of extramarital affairs, explicit text messages to women and the breakdown of his marriage to Simone Callahan – is likely to attract interest from UK channels.

The movie would follow on from a cricket film called ‘Howzat,’ that recently pulled in 2 million TV viewers in Australia.

“I’ve already had a stage play which was wonderful,” Warne told Melbourne’s Triple M radio.

“Whether I’m doing a Howzat! thing - I’m not sure yet,” he said.
