Susan Sarandon set to play Marilyn Monroe’s mom

Marilyn, an upcoming mini-series on an American TV network, will see actor Susan Sarandon play mother of the late star. The 68-year-old Oscar-winning actor will portray Monroe’s mentally-ill mother in the four-hour film.

The 68-year-old Oscar-winning actor will portray Monroe’s mentally-ill mother in the four-hour film, which is based on the bestselling book, The Secret Life Of Marilyn Monroe by J Randy Taraborrelli, reports Deadline.com.

The biopic would focus on the Hollywood icon, who though dazzled on the red carpets in shimmering gowns, had to fight a battle against demons she’s inherited from her mother. The film, which has been set for 2015 premier, would be helmed by Laurie Collyer.
