Jared Leto had complained shortly after the film’s release on August 5 that many scenes he shot as the Joker were deleted.
Warner Bros, the studio behind the film, unveiled a short teaser on Wednesday teasing the extended cut for the film’s home entertainment release, available on Digital HD on November 15 and Blu-ray on December 13, reports variety.com.
Made on a budget of $175 million, the film, which received mostly negative reviews, became a solid box office performer with a $740 million in worldwide gross.
David Ayer directed Suicide Squad from his own script about a secret government agency that recruits imprisoned supervillains to save the world in exchange for clemency.
The film stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
