Actor Tom Cruise has revealed the titled for the Top Gun sequel. The movie will be called Top Gun: Maverick. Whether Val Kilmer will be a part of it is still uncertain.

Tom Cruise has revealed the title of Top Gun sequel. Not Top Gun 2, its Top Gun: Maverick, named after his character, reports Deadline.

Tom Cruise will be back as Lt. Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell.

But what he still kept under the wrap was whether Val Kilmer will return as Iceman.

After Cruise first announced the sequel last month, Kilmer posted an Instagram message to his old flying buddy saying he was “ready” and “still got the moves!”

“It’s going to be a competition film like the first one, and it’s going to be in the same vein and the same tone as the first,” he said, with “the need for speed and big, fast machines.”
