Top Gun 2 taking flight? Val Kilmer echoes Tom Cruise’s excitement
Days after star Tom Cruise revealed that long-awaited sequel to his 1986 film Top Gun is ready to take flight, his co-star Val Kilmer shared an image on Instagram.
Actor Val Kilmer has expressed his desire to appear in the Top Gun sequel.
The original Top Gun was released in 1986 and was directed by the late Tony Scott.
The 57-year-old star is keen to reprise his role as cocky fighter pilot Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazanski in the sequel to the 1986 classic film, reported E! online.

Val shared a photo of himself on Instagram, in which he was wearing a t-shirt featuring an illustration of his character and the slogan Cool As Ice and wrote: Friends said it’s official - #TOPGUN2 was announced today. I’m ready Tom - still got my top gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it! (sic).”
Cruise, 54, previously revealed the movie is likely to begin shooting in 2018.
