Wanted: Indian actors to play Aladdin and Jasmine in Guy Ritchie’s film

Guy Ritchie is looking for Indian origin actors as leads in the upcoming live action film, Aladdin.

Are you a Guy Ritchie fan? If yes, then here’s your best chance to work with the legendary English filmmaker. The 48-year-old is looking for Indian origin actors as lead characters in the upcoming live motion film- Aladdin. An American casting company has issued a casting call asking for interested candidates to come and audition for the titular roles of Aladdin and Jasmine.

One of the requirements from the many that the candidates need to fulfil is that they need to be either Indian, or of Eastern heritage. “Please apply ONLY if you have Middle Eastern Heritage OR Indian Heritage (from the country India). this is a requirement,” a part of the announcement read.

The last date to submit the application is tomorrow, and the advertisement suggests that the auditions will happen within two weeks in Delhi and Mumbai.

In March, it was announced that actor Will Smith will be voicing the iconic Genie in the movie. The character has earlier appeared in the Disney animated film which was released in 1992, and actor Robin Williams was the voice behind him.
