61 AGMUT cadre IAS, IPS officers transferred

The Centre on Thursday ordered the immediate transfer and posting of 61 AGMUT cadre officers, including 21 IAS and 40 IPS officers. Many IPS officers such as Tanushree, who was SSP Pulwama and Srinagar will now get new assignments in the Delhi Police. Among IAS officers, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, a 1999 batch IAS from J&K, who was posted as commissioner/Secretary Youth Services in J&K will be posted in Arunachal Pradesh. Amjad Tak, a 2005 batch IPS officer, who was earlier District Magistrate (South) and also excise commissioner, is also returning from his stint in Arunachal Pradesh. AGMUT stands for Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories.
The order, one of the biggest in terms of the numbers transferred/new appointments, will lead to many changes in the police and bureaucracy across states and IT such as Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Ladakh, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and DNH&DD.
According to the order dated July 9, 21 IAS officers have been transferred across various AGMUT cadre segments, with Delhi receiving several officers from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, DNH&DD, Lakshadweep and Jammu & Kashmir. Among those posted to Delhi are Vivek Pandey (2003), Garima Gupta (2004), Pawan Kumar Sain (2005), Amjad Tak (2005), Ajay Kumar Gupta (2010), Awanish Kumar (2014), Shweta Nagarkoti (2020) and Swati Sheemar (2023). The order also transfers Sanjay Goel (2004) from Goa to Arunachal Pradesh, Saugat Biswas (2006) from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu & Kashmir, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (2009) from Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, Arava Gopi Krishna (2012) from DNH&DD to Ladakh, L Kumar (2012) from Andaman & Nicobar to Puducherry, Kesavan R (2013) from Puducherry to Lakshadweep, Bhupesh Chaudhary (2014) from Ladakh to DNH&DD, Shashanka Ala (2014) from Ladakh to DNH&DD, Rishita Gupta (2019) from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh, R Giri Sankar (2020) from Lakshadweep to Puducherry, Mamta Yadav (2021) from Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir, W Punshiba Singh (2022) from Delhi to Lakshadweep and Ishita Rathi (2022) from Puducherry to Jammu & Kashmir.
Among the 40 IPS officers transferred, Delhi has received Vivek Kishore (1999), Sindhu Pillai (2001), Chinmoy Biswal (2008), A Koan (2009), Varsha Sharma (2010), Jitendra Kumar Meena (2012), Anil Kumar Lal (2013), Manjeet (2015), Geetanjali Khandelwal (2015), Satyawan Gautam (2016), Tanushree (2017), Pukhraj Kamal (2018), Lokeshwaran R (2018), Gaurav Tyagi (2019) and Utkarsha (2021), among others. Vivek Kishore, the senior-most officer on the list will join the Delhi Police as a special commissioner. Chinmoy Biswal, who was earlier DCP in the crime and later additional commissioner in the western range, is set to join as joint commissioner. The other officers are likely to be posted as deputy commissioners of police.
The order states that the transfers and postings have been made with the approval of the competent authority and take immediate effect until further orders. The MHA in a separate order also transferred 48 DANICS and DANIPS officers. DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Civil Services) and DANIPS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Police Service) are the civil and police services for the above-mentioned UTs. The 19 DANICS officers are of the ranks of additional/sub district magistrate, while the other 29 DANIPS are additional deputy/assistant commissioner of police.
