A pregnant woman, who was brought in serious condition to a hospital, died after her husband left her unattended when doctors told him that she has to be shifted to a speciality hospital, police said.

“The husband would be booked under serious charges and his daughter has been sent to a child protection home,” SSP Babloo Kumar said.

Brajendra, a resident of Mahavidya colony admitted his wife to the district hospital on Sunday in serious condition. He was told by the doctors that she has to be shifted to a speciality hospital in Agra later.

“He fled from the hospital even when he was told that his wife will be required to be shifted to Agra. After sometime, the patient and her baby died,” Dr Basant Lal claimed.

Her body has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
