A bomb threat sent by email to the Indian Space Research Organisation’s Bengaluru campus on Thursday led to the evacuation of employees as police and specialist teams carried out an extensive search of the premises.

The message claimed that explosives had been placed inside the ISRO facility on New BEL Road.
Authorities sealed the campus and deployed the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, sniffer dog units and local police to examine offices, laboratories and other parts of the complex.
Officials said the initial search did not uncover any explosive devices or other suspicious objects.

The inspection remained in progress as security personnel completed standard safety checks before the campus could be declared secure.
Investigators are working to identify the sender by examining digital evidence, including the mail’s technical trail and IP related information.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the same individual or group may be responsible for multiple threat emails directed at government offices and public institutions in recent weeks.
