Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday approved the release of ₹6,194.40 crore to 19 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

The statement added that ₹4,984.80 crore will also be given to 15 states -- Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Tripura -- for 2023-24.

Andhra Pradesh government on Friday announced ₹25 lakh ex-gratia each for next kin after two died in a fire accident of Sahithi Pharma in the Achuthapuram Industrial Special Economic Zone in Visakhapatnam's Anakapalli, ANI reported.

The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government on Friday approached Supreme Court regarding Centre's ordinance regarding transfer posting of officers. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday said after a preliminary review of the resumption plan submitted by the Resolution Professional (RP) for Go First on Wednesday, it has planned to conduct a special audit of the airlines' facilities in Mumbai and Delhi from July 4 to 6. 

The audit shall focus on the safety-related aspects and continued compliance of the requirements to hold an Air Operator Certificate, as well as on physical verification of the arrangements made for resumption of flight operations.

Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh tweeted, stating he "will not resign," amidst discussions about his potential resignation from the post. Supporters gathered at the state Governor's residence, urging him not to step down.

Explosion at a pharmaceutical lab in Visakhapatnam's Anakapalli occurred due to a short circuit that occurred when a solvent was being loaded into a container at about 11.10 am on Friday, ANI reported citing ASP PSN Rao. “There were 35 people working, and 7 were injured. The injured have been shifted to the hospital. Precautionary measures are being taken and the fire tenders are here. The fire will be brought under control,” he said.

Amid ongoing talks that Manipur chief minister Biren Singh will resign, a local said, “We have been under a situation of turmoil since 2 months. We are looking for the day when the Govt of India and Manipur will resolve this conflict in a democratic manner. In such a situation if the Manipur CM resigns, how will the people live here? Who will lead us? He has been leading us from the beginning of the conflict. I do not want him to resign. We trust him.” (ANI)

Two people died and several were injured in an explosion at a pharmaceutical factory in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, the Indian Express reported. Industries Minister, G Amarnath, said the fire occurred in a factory of Sahithi Pharma, the report added.
