Day after FIR, Amit Malviya's fresh attack on Rahul Gandhi: ‘No messiah of peace’

A day after an FIR was filed against BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya for calling him 'dangerous', Malviya on Thursday did not dither to take on Rahul Gandhi and his Manipur visit as he said Rahul Gandhi is no messaiah of peace but just a political opportunist who wants to "keep the pot boiling". Asking why Rahul Gandhi did not visit Manipur when the Congress government was there, Malviya said Gandhi's visit is borne out of his 'own selfish political agenda'. On Wednesday, the Karnataka Police registered an FIR against Malviya for 'promoting enmity within groups' and 'instigating people'. The FIR led to a war of words between the BJP and the Congress leaders.
Rahul Gandhi will reach violence-hit Manipur on Thursday and will spend two days there interacting with civil society representatives in Imphal and Churachandpur. This visit comes as Congress continued questioning PM Modi's silence on Manipur violence.
As several BJP supporters questioned why Rahul Gandhi was going to Manipur now that he is not even an MP, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate tweeted, "What if he is not in any post? He is going to wipe the tears of the people. A son of the country is going to meet the sons and the daughters of the country."

Commenting on Rahul Gandhi's US visit, Amit Malviya on June 18 posted a video caricaturing Rahul Gandhi being contacted by the international media to 'break India'. The video also mocked Rahul Gandhi's statement that Muslim League is a secular party; India is not a nation but a union of states etc. After the FIR, Malviya reposted the video on Wednesday.
