The Delhi high court on Monday issued notice to the home ministry and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on a plea of controversial meat exporter Moin Qureshi alleging that he was detained at the airport on his return to India by the ED in violation of a judicial order staying the lookout circular against him.
Justice AK Pathak also issued notice to the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) seeking response to his plea in which he has claimed that no money laundering case is made out against him.
Qureshi said the court on October 26 stayed the lookout circular against him till November 22, despite which he was detained and his passport impounded by ED when he arrived in India on November 21.
ED had registered a case last year against the Delhi-based meat exporter, who has been under scanner of probe agencies for alleged tax evasion and hawala-like dealings.
