In his opening remarks at the G20 summit where a name badge at his table read “Bharat”, he announced to include the African Union as the permanent member of the G20 organisation. Earlier in the day, he welcomed the world leaders for the mega conclave . The high-level conclave is hosting over 30 global leaders including US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron among others.
The day concluded with President Droupadi Murmu hosting a lavish dinner for nearly 400 guests at the G20 venue - Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Murmu, Modi received Biden, Sunak, among several leaders as they arrived at the venue to attend the grand dinner.
