A government doctor has been arrested for allegedly sending objectionable messages on a festival on WhatsApp here, police said on Wednesday.

A government doctor has been arrested for allegedly sending objectionable messages on a festival on WhatsApp here, police said on Wednesday.
Dr Yakub, medical officer of government community health centre in Pokaran, was arrested after social organisations demanded action against him.
The accused doctor was arrested on Tuesday, deputy SP Nanak Singh said on Wednesday.
On direction of the district collector, action against the medical officer was taken and he was removed from his posting and put under awaiting posting orders status.
An inquiry against the doctor has also been initiated, a district administration official said.
