Harsimrat Kaur's swipe at Bhagwant Mann in Parliament: 'Now, drinking, driving entire Punjab'
"If CM is like this then you can imagine what will be the condition of the state. We find 'Don't drink and drive' written on the roads but they are drinking and driving the state," Harsimrat Kaur Badal said during a debate in the Lok Sabha.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal Tuesday targeted Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and claimed he attended Parliament proceedings in an "inebriated state" which, she said, had also triggered requests from other members (who sat near him) for a change in the seating arrangement. She claimed this happened months ago (when Mann was a member of the Lok Sabha member until he became the Punjab chief minister), but added this was reflective of the current state of affairs in Punjab. "...they are drinking and driving the state," she said.

"If CM is like this then you can imagine what will be the condition of the state. We find 'Don't drink and drive' written on the roads but they are drinking and driving the state," Harsimrat Kaur Badal said during a debate in the Lok Sabha.
"CM of our state (Punjab) used to sit in the House a few months ago. The person who used to come to the Parliament in an inebriated state is now running the state. Members who used to sit near him had complained to change their seats,' she added.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal made the comments after initiating a debate on the problem of drug abuse in the country and the steps taken by the government. The SAD MP further alleged that the law and order situation in Punjab was deteriorating.
As Badal continued her tirade against Mann in Parliament, Amit Shah was seen breaking into a smile; Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla was also seen grinning.
Speaking to news agency ANI later, she called Mann an "inexperienced comedian" who has been made a chief minister. In the same breath, she also attacked AAP boss Arvind Kejriwal for "using Punjab's money in state polls".
"The condition in which he (Punjab CM Mann) used to come to Parliament, in the same condition he's in Punjab. An inexperienced comedian has been made a CM while Kejriwal is using Punjab's money in state polls and gangsters are running the state," she said.
