Horse ‘kicks’ bike rider killing him on spot in Hyderabad

Hameed Shah Khan, 44, who was riding the bike, was kicked by the horse when his two-wheeler was passing by the animal on Sunday night.

In a freak incident, a bike rider died on spot and the man riding pillion sustained injuries after a horse ‘kicked’ them when they were passing by it in Mailardevpally area in Hyderabad.

Hameed Shah Khan, 44, who was riding the bike, was kicked by the horse when his two-wheeler was passing by the animal Sunday night, police said on Monday.

He died on the spot and the pillion rider sustained injuries after falling on the road, deputy commissioner of police (Shamshabad Zone) P V Padmaja told PTI.

A complaint has been lodged by the family members of the deceased.

“It is still not clear whether the bike first hit the horse or the animal kicked the riders,” she said.

The horse rider identified as one Sohail has been arrested, the DCP said.

The injured has been admitted to a state-run hospital, said the officer.
