I’ve no power to punish, reform errant husbands, says Sushma
Swaraj said she is powerless in dealing with one complex issue when responding to an Indian national in distress — errant husbands. An Indian woman who lives abroad tweeted to the minister that her husband is cheating on her.
Twitter-savvy external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj is known for her quick response in helping Indians in distress, from Indians stranded in conflict-torn countries, clearing pending salary of workers to getting passports delivered in time for the needy.

But late on Wednesday, Swaraj said she is powerless in dealing with one complex issue when responding to an Indian national in distress — errant husbands.
An Indian woman who lives abroad tweeted to the minister that her husband is cheating on her.
It is understood from her tweets that the woman is in India for her mother’s funeral, and she discovered that her husband’s Thai girlfriend is also in India on the solemn occasion.
The woman asked for the external affairs minister’s help in tracking down the girlfriend because she’s doesn’t know the Thai woman’s name.
“@SushmaSwaraj Mam I saw on true caller ID Thai she’s in Delhi. But can’t trace her name. I don’t have anyone in Delhi. Please help me,” she tweeted.
“All my sympathies are with you. Unfortunately, I have no power to punish or reform such errant husbands,” the minister tweeted.
Earlier, her tweet to a disgruntled owner of a refrigerator had gone viral.
“Brother I cannot help you in matters of a Refrigerator. I am very busy with human beings in distress,” Swaraj had tweeted to a user.
