Afzal, the husband of the victim Shabana, has been arrested and a case has been registered against five people who are absconding, SHO Chaman Singh Chawda said.

The woman’s brother Iqbal alleged that she was being harassed for her inability to bear a child and the accused were demanding more dowry.

The body has been sent for postmortem and investigation is on, Chawda said.
