Kashmir: Infiltration bid foiled near Baramulla, two militants killed

Army on Thursday claimed to have gunned down two militants foiling an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector or north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Army on Thursday claimed to have gunned down two militants foiling an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The army intercepted a militant group late Sunday afternoon said soldiers manning the Lachipora forest area in Uri sector.

Suspected militants opened fire and the army retaliated triggering an encounter. Two militants were killed.

“A group of militants were intercepted. The militants opened fire at the troops setting off a gunfight. Two militants have been killed so far,” an officer told IANS.
