Nothing incriminating was recovered from him but he was handed over to police as his antecedents could not be verified immediately in view of the troubled situation in Kashmir, a BSF officer said.

“We intercepted a car at Border Out Post (BoP) along International Border (IB) in RS Pura sector in Jammu district. A youth identified as Umar Ashraf Bhat (28) of Pattan, Baramulla, in Kashmir was detained,” a senior BSF officer said here.

“He told BSF that he was going to Pathankot and then to Delhi for attending to a job call. He was under the influence of drugs and reached to IB (instead of Pathankot),” the officer said.

The officer said his antecedents could not be verified immediately in view of the troubled situation in Kashmir.

“He was carrying some personal documents and Rs 38,000 cash. So we handed him over to police. Nothing incriminating was recovered from him,” he said.
