In phase one, the BJP won four mayoral seats, while the Congress won two. However, the third entrant Aam Aadmi Party stole the show, winning the mayoral post in Singrauli. The elections in the first phase were held on July 6 for 133 civic bodies, including 11 municipal corporations, 36 municipal councils and 86 towns councils. A voter turnout of 61 per cent was recorded.
BJP registers lead in 256 bodies out of 347
Out of 347 bodies, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a lead in 256. Of the total 16 seats in the Municipal Corporation, BJP won 9 seats, Congress won 5 seats, AAP won 1 and 1 was won by an independent mayor.
BJP wins 30 out of 49 wards in Ratlam
BJP has registered victory in the results of Ratlam Municipal Corporation, which came out in the second phase of urban body counting. Here BJP's mayoral candidate Prahlad Patel defeated Congress candidate Mayank Jat by more than eight thousand votes. Along with this, BJP candidates have also won in 30 wards out of 49 wards of the corporation. While 15 wards have gone to Congress and 4 to the independent candidates.
BJP loses 7 municipal corporations; Cong wins Rewa after 24 yrs
The ruling BJP got a major jolt as the saffron camp lost 7 seats. The saffron camp lost the mayoral post in the Morena Municipal Corporation, the home turf of party stalwart and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar in the second phase. The BJP also lost the mayoral post in the Rewa Municipal Corporation against its main political rival Congress after 25 years. Congress candidate Ajay Mishra (Baba) won Rewa’s mayoral post defeating the BJP’s Prabodh Vyas.
Counting of votes for Rewa Municipal Corporation is over; BJP wins 18 out of 45 wards
The counting of votes for the Rewa Municipal Corporation elections has been completed. BJP has won 18 out of 45 wards, while Congress has waved its victory in 16 wards, staying behind by just two points.
Apart from Congress and BJP, 11 independent candidates have also ensured their victory in Rewa.

Out of 24 seats in Sidhi Nagar Palika municipal council, the Congress has made a spectacular comeback by winning 14 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party has won only 6 seats. Aam Aadmi Party bagged 1 seat, and independent candidates won 3 seats.
