Police said the grocery shop owner used to give his shop keys to Ali ever day before leaving home. “We came to know from the hotel staff that the accused asked Ali to provide the keys of the shop to steal beedi but he refused,” said Krishan Chander, investigating officer.
In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly smashed Ali’s face with a heavy object and fled the spot after stealing the keys.
A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and teams have been formed to nab the accused, on a complaint made by another hotel staff.
