The Washington Post said Trump found out Modi is a hugger on Monday when the Indian leader embraced him thrice on different occasions. Modi first swooped in for two bear hugs during their joint statements in the Rose Garden which was quickly followed by Trump’s lingering hand clasp.
This was followed by the second hug after the closing remarks where Modi was seen placing his head on Trump’s shoulder and the video of the leaders showing off their camaraderie instantly became viral on social media.
Modi went in for the third and final public hug while departing the White House.
While the two leaders pledged to eradicate “radical Islamic terrorism” and contemplated about their popularity on social media, Twitter users had a field day. The micro blogging site has been abuzz as obvious hilarious jokes about the “intimate and personal hugs” shared between the two leaders, made the rounds.
