The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha resumed session on Monday after a motion of no-confidence against the Narendra Modi government was expectedly defeated in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

A bill that provides for stringent punishment, including death penalty for those convicted of raping girls below 12 years, was introduced in the Lok Sabha.

Oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that Iran overtook Saudi Arabia to be the second largest supplier of crude oil to Indian public sector firms during the first three months of current fiscal.
