Modi arrived in Singapore on the last leg of his three-nation tour after a brief halt in Malaysia where he met his newly-elected Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohammad and discussed ways to boost bilateral ties.
On Friday, Modi will hold talks with his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong and pay a courtesy visit to President Halimah Yacob. He will deliver a keynote address at the 17th International Institute for Strategic Studies Shangri-La Dialogue on Friday. He will also visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens where an orchid will be named in his honour.

PM Modi launches three Indian mobile payment apps in Singapore at a business event aimed at internationalisation of the country’s digital payment platform. At the ‘Business, Innovation and Community Event’ here where digital platform was the main feature, Modi launched India’s BHIM, RuPay and SBI app.

1pm: Modi arrives in Singapore on the last leg of his three-nation tour during which he will hold talks with the country’s top leadership and deliver a keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue.
11.15 am: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emplanes for Singapore from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur.
10.35 am: During his brief stopover, Modi also met with Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her husband Anwar Ibrahim.
10.20am: The two leaders discussed ways to boost economic and cultural relations between India and Malaysia.
10 am: “Glad to have met Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. I thank him for the warm welcome. We had productive discussions on further cementing India-Malaysia ties,” Modi tweeted in both Malay and English.

8.50 am: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur. He will meet Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Thursday.
* During his first-ever official visit to Indonesia, Modi held “productive discussions” with President Widodo. The two countries elevated their bilateral ties to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and condemned terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terror.
*India and Indonesia also signed 15 agreements, including one to boost defence cooperation and called for freedom of navigation in the strategic Indo-Pacific region.
