PM Modi shares his fitness challenge video, Karnataka CM has this response
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last month accepted cricketer Virat Kohli’s fitness challenge, which began with sports minister Rajyavardjan Singh Rathore’s fitness campaign on Twitter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday posted a video showing him stretching and doing several yoga poses, less than a month after he accepted cricketer Virat Kohli’s fitness challenge.
“Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature - Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises. #HumFitTohIndiaFit,” Modi wrote on Twitter.
Modi also issued a challenge to Karnataka’s chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, who responded by saying that he felt “honoured” but said he was “more concerned” about his state’s health. Kumaraswamy and Modi’s parties were rivals in Karnataka elections. The Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party fought bitterly to form a government and Kumaraswamy emerged as the winner finally.
“I appeal to every Indian to devote some part of the day towards fitness. Practice any set of exercises you are comfortable with and you will see the positive difference it will make in your life! #FitnessChallenge #HumFitTohIndiaFit,” he said.
The video, which is just under two minutes, has been seen by over 36,000 people so far.
Modi, a strong proponent of yoga, had promised to share his own fitness challenge video after he accepted Kohli’s fitness challenge last month.
Kohli had issued the challenge to the Prime Minister, cricketer MS Dhoni and actor wife Anushka Sharma as a part of sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore’s #HumFitTohIndiaFit campaign on Twitter.
