Puducherry election dates: Voting on April 9, results on May 4

Key details for Puducherry polls 2026
The union territory of Puducherry has a total of 9,44,539 voters, according to the Election Commission of India, out of which, 23,033 are young electors.
The senior citizen voters, aged 85 and above, in Puducherry are 6,034 and PwD voters are 12,204.

The voting for 30 assembly constituencies in Puducherry will be held in 1,099 polling booths set up across the Union Territory.

The polling in Puducherry will coincide with Kerala on April 9, both of which will be held in a single phase. "The voting for all seats in Kerala and Puducherry will take place on April 9 while all Tamil Nadu seats will go to polls on April 23," said the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who addressed the press conference with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
Currently, Puducherry's chief minister is N Rangasamy who has been in power since 2021. The Union Territory has a total of 33 seats, including three members nominated by the Centre.
