Rajinikanth to Shruti Haasan, Tamil celebs tweet tributes to Jayalalithaa

Tamil film industry tweeted their tributes for J Jayalalithaa.

Tributes poured in for J Jayalalithaa from the Tamil film industry, who passed away here on Monday, after a 75-day battle for life at the Apollo Hospital.

The late Tamil Nadu chief minister was a popular movie star before switching careers and venturing into politics.

Superstar Rajinikanth described Jayalalithaa as a brave daughter.

“Not just Tamil Nadu but the whole of India lost a brave daughter. May her soul rest in peace,” Rajinikanth tweeted.

Actor and singer Dhanush also tweeted on the demise of the “Iron Lady” of Tamil Nadu.

Actress Trisha Krishnan also took to Twitter to pay homage to the late leader and shared pictures of her meetings with Jayalalithaa.

Describing Jayalalithaa as one of the bravest women, Shruti Haasan wrote, “TN loses one of its greatest leaders and bravest women. Deeply saddened by this great loss. Words cannot express.”

Actress Hansika, who is a popular face in Tamil film industry condoled Jayalalithaa’s death describing that “a good heart has stopped beating.”

Actress Gautami also highlighted the venerated qualities of the Tamil political stalwart while paying her respect.
