During Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, Tiwari alleged that a banned substance was mixed in “dal fry” in the Sports Authority of India (SAI) kitchen.
If the banned substance was consumed by the athlete unknowingly, then he should be given a fair chance to represent. But if he did it knowingly, then he should be punished, Tiwari said.
Deputy chairman PJ Kurien concurred: “If there is a conspiracy, it needs to be investigated.”
Congress’ Ranjeet Ranjan sought a CBI inquiry into allegations that brother of an international-level athlete had spiked Yadav’s food.
Minister of state for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said he will make the concerned minister aware of the feelings of the House, and SS Ahluwalia assured the House that he would ask the government to make a statement on the issue
