Techie from Telangana found dead in apartment in US

A 30-year old software engineer from Telangana’s Siddipet district was found dead in suspicious circumstances at his apartment in Arlington of Texas, in the US on Friday.

According to the information reaching here, Venkannagari Krishna Chaitanya, working for Cognizant Technologies on a Southeast Airlines project, did not come out for a long time from his room in the apartment at Arlington, where he had been staying as a paying guest.

The landlord alerted the local police, who arrived on the scene and broke open the door only to find Chaitanya lying dead on the bed. The police registered a case and began investigation into the cause of death.

A native of Prashanth Nagar in Siddipet, Chaitanya went to the US on the project work three years ago. The police informed his father Srinivasa Chary, a bank employee and his brother Vamsi Krishna in Siddipet.

Telangana chief secretary S P Singh on Saturday wrote to Consul General of India in Houston requesting him to make the necessary arrangements to transport the body to Hyderabad. .

Telangana NRI wing representatives Mohan Goli and Sridhar Madhavaneni are also cooperating with the Indian mission to send the body home. The post-mortem was completed and the body is likely to be flown to India by Thursday, family members said.
