UPSC aspirants death news Highlights: Three civil services aspirants -- two females and a male – died after the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar flooded after heavy rainfall. The incident occurred at Rau’s IAS Study Circle at Bada Bazar Marg. The coaching centre was running a library in its basement.

The deceased have been identified as Shreya Yadav of Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Navin Dalwin from Ernakulam in Kerala. All three were aged between 25 and 30.

UPSC aspirants held a night-long protest, demanding immediate action from the authorities following the incident at the coaching institute.

On Sunday, the Delhi Police said that the facility's owner and coordinator have been arrested for allegedly violating regulations by using the basement as a library.

According to Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg, the building had been granted a no-objection certificate (NOC) on the condition that the basement would be used solely as a storeroom. "The management of the coaching institute was using the same room as a classroom or library, which is a violation of the NOC," Garg said.

Delhi revenue minister Atishi has ordered an inquiry into the incident even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of negligence for not addressing drainage issues in the capital.
