Video: Terrorists attempt to infiltrate India border near Jammu & Kashmir's Uri

The terrorists were shot dead by the Indian army and a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK rifles, one Chinese M-16 rifle and other ammunition was recovered.

In a joint operation, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police shot dead three infiltrators on the India-Pakistan border in the forward areas of Jammu and Kashmir's Uri. A video was widely circulated online on Friday showing the terrorists attempting to cross into the Indian side of the border.

The video, sourced from the Indian Army, captured the three terrorists walking using a long shot lens from behind what appears to be a line of pine trees. The terrorists were taken down near Madiyan Nanak post in the Kamalkote sector, Uri.

The contact with terrorists was established at about 08.45am on August 25 in the forward areas of the LoC in India, leading to heavy exchange of fire in which the terrorists were killed.

The army recovered their bodies after a search of the area along with a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK rifles, one Chinese M-16 rifle and other ammunition.

This is the fourth infiltration bid foiled by the Army in the last three days at the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, two terrorists were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district during an attempt to infiltrate into this side of the LoC in the Nowshera sector. One of the terrorists had stepped over a landmine causing an explosion, officials had said.

“The injured Pakistani terrorist was captured alive and provided with immediate medical aid and lifesaving surgery was carried out,” the army had said in a statement.

He along with four-five other terrorists were reportedly on a suicide mission to target Indian Army. He also reportedly confessed to have received ₹30,000 from a Pakistani colonel, Colonel Yunus, for the mission.
