Speaking at an ‘Entrepreneurs’ Meet’ for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) organised by Allahabad Bank Zonal Office in the state capital on Saturday, Dash said that development of the SME sector could not be done through adoption of a “quick-fix” solution.

The improvement in technology, credit terms and infrastructure is linked heavily with factors which do not lie in the hands of SME owners.

“But, always remember that the largest companies or the most efficient ones at the end of the day rely on a host of smaller entities for their final product,” Dash said.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajmal Saeeduddin, advisor, Allahabad Bank said the SME sector was the backbone of the Indian industry as the SMEs had a large role to play with many multinationals setting up their units in the country.

Shiv Singh Yadav, Director, Institutional Finance, Government of UP, attended the seminar.

A large number of entreprenures attended the meet.
