A bus and a truck collided head-on in northwestern Pakistan on Monday, killing 11 people and injuring four others, an official said.

All the dead and injured were aboard the small bus, which crashed into the truck near Darra Adamkhel, a tribal town about 45 kilometres south of Peshawar, said Salahuddin Khan, an official in the administration of the area.

Eight died at the scene and three died at a local hospital where the four injured survivors underwent treatment, Khan said. It was not immediately know how many others were involved in the accident.

The bus was headed to Peshawar from the southern town of Karak, Khan said.
