113 madrassas operating in J&K without Govt aid

There are 113 madrassas operating in the state for the past 16 years without any financial aid from the Government, official sources said.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that there are 113 madrassas functioning without Government aid in the state.

There are 113 madrassas operating in the state for the past 16 years without any financial aid from the Government, official sources said.

The sources added that the institutions are being supported by donations from the community.

Sources said the school education department did not regulate them as they only imparted religious education and not modern subjects.
