12 killed as van, mini-truck collide in Rewari

Eleven people dies on the spot while one woman succumbs to injuries on way to the civil hospital.

Eleven women and a driver were killed and 14 others injured when a mini truck collided with a pick-up van near Jadra village in the district today.

Eleven people died on the spot while one woman succumbed to injuries on way to the civil hospital in Rewari, Deputy Commissioner, Rewari, Chander Prakash said.

The victims, who were travelling in the van, were on their way from from Bhiwani to Naichana village to take part in a funeral when the accident occurred.

The driver of the mini truck, which was coming from Bhondsi in Gurgaon, was among those killed in the mishap, prakash said.

Twelve injured were admitted to the civil hospital in Rewari, he said adding no one has been arrested so far.
