The girl, a resident of Bhopal who had gone for a week-long trip to Thailand with family, was found to have fever and cough during screening at the airport on Monday.
“Her throat swabs had been sent to the National Institute of Virology for testing. The report will come on Tuesday,” said Dr Uddhav Gawande, nodal officer for the state’s influenza control programme.
The Kandivili couple got themselves checked as they suspected they contracted the flu on a recent Hyderabad trip.
Thirty people in India have been diagnosed with A/H1N1. But the city has been spared so far. All 22 people suspected to be infected tested negative.
