14-day judicial custody for Swedish woman held in Goa with cartridge

A Swedish woman, reportedly an arms instructor with the Swedish Army, who was arrested in Goa with a live cartridge while boarding a flight at the airport in Panaji, has been remanded in 14 days judicial custody.
Christina Hardinz (36) has been lodged at Sada Sub Jail after a local court remanded her in judicial custody last evening. Police said they are still investigating the matter and refused to divulge more details.
The Swedish Embassy has already been informed about the arrest and detailed documents would be faxed to them this evening so that the diplomatic aid can reach her, they said.
Hardinz was arrested after a live 5.56 mm cartridge showed up in her hand luggage during the security check on Monday.
Various intelligence agencies including the IB had interrogated her, after the arrest.
She had feigned innocence about the cartridge stating that she was unaware of how it really was there in the bag.
Hardinz had arrived in Goa on December 23 and spent Christmas and New Year in Panaji.
