14 killed in separate road accidents in AP

Fourteen persons including five folk artists, including two women, were killed and 17 others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

Fourteen persons including five folk artists, including two women, were killed and 17 others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

The folk artists were killed and five others sustained injuries when an auto rickshaw they were traveling in collided with a state-run RTC bus on Hyderabad-Srisailam highway in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday, they said.

In neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, five women were killed on the spot while 12 others suffered injuries when the four-wheeler they were traveling in was hit by a unidentified vehicle at Gundallapalli village under medical police station limits in the wee hours today, police said.

In yet another incident four motorcycle-borne youths were killed when a speeding car hit their bike near a tanda (hamlet) between Shadnagar and Kothur in Mahabubnagar district this afternoon, Kothur police said.
