Until now, the shikshakarmis were receiving DA at the rate of 240 per cent. With effect from September 1, 2006, they would get DA at the rate of 255 per cent. They are planning to hold a two-day convention from November 6 in the State capital to press for their demands.

The announcement comes just ahead of that. However, MP Rajya Shikshakarmi Sangh president Murlidhar could not be contacted for his reaction on the announcement.
