Heena Singh, 20, who hanged herself in her Uttam Nagar home, was a second year BA (bachelor of arts degree) student at the Delhi University's School of Correspondence Studies, the police said.

Upon discovering her body, family members rushed her to the Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Earlier in the day Heena's father Rajendra Singh had scolded her for not having studied for her English exam scheduled Friday.

This is the second student suicide in the past five days. A Class 10 student of Sanskriti School Sunday took her life before the board results.
