23-year-old man dies in stadium
A 23-year-old man, Praveen Yadav, a resident of village Mullahera near Palam Vihar, was electrocuted at the Tau Devi Lal stadium in Gurgaon on Sunday morning.
A 23-year-old man, Praveen Yadav, a resident of village Mullahera near Palam Vihar, was electrocuted at the Tau Devi Lal stadium in Gurgaon on Sunday morning.
Yadav was in the stadium to play cricket with friends. He was chasing the ball as a fielder when he touched a high mast tower that was electrically charged. He died on the spot.
Yadav, who runs a garment factory, got engaged recently and was to get married in a couple of months.
People blamed the administration for the man's death. They said that these accidents were common here because the stadium was not maintained at all.
They said that the lighting fixtures were stolen and there was no security guard around. Even though the park is frequented by lots of people from the nearby sectors, Haryana Urban Development Authority, that is responsible for the park, has done nothing.
