24-year-old Delhi girl raped by five men in Faridabad
A 24-year-old woman, a resident east Delhi, was gang-raped by five men in a moving car in Faridabad on Saturday evening, where she had gone to meet a friend.
A 24-year-old woman, a resident east Delhi, was gang-raped by five men in a moving car in Faridabad on Saturday evening, where she had gone to meet a friend.
After assaulting her, the accused dropped her at Vaishali in Ghaziabad in the early hours on Sunday. The woman reported the matter to the police on Sunday. A medical test confirmed rape, following which police launched a search for the accused. They were able to arrest the two accused on Sunday itself. A local court sent them to judicial custody on Monday.
In her complaint, the victim said she had reached Faridabad by a local train on Saturday to meet her friend. While she was on her way to her friend's place in Sector 15, five men in a Chevrolet Beat car intercepted her near Sector 16A.
They bundled her into the car and left for Delhi- Jaipur highway. Then they took turns to rape her, while roaming around the highway. The victim claimed that she was also taken to Haridwar and finally dropped in Vaishali, Ghaziabad.
She immediately reached Faridabad and reported the matter to the police.
The two arrested accused have been identified as Kul Bhushan of New Industrial Township (NIT), Faridabad and Sandeep Kumar of Ballabgarh.
“We are on the heels of the remaining three accused,” SHO Central police station Amit Kumar said, adding, “The car used in the crime has also been seized.” Police said the victim did not know any of the accused.
The victim lives in east Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area and works with a private firm, which she refused to mention in her complaint, police said.
