A 24-year-old housewife jumped to death from a multi-storey building in a posh south Delhi area, an incident police suspect was the fallout of a bitter dispute and harassment over dowry.
Poonam Abrol, who hails from Katwa in Jammu and Kashmir, leapt off the fifth floor of her apartment in Malviya Nagar on Wednesday night, police said.
Her mother, who arrived on Friday to receive the body, has alleged that her in-laws used to harass her for the last several months demanding a car as dowry.
On the basis of the statement given by her, police has arrested Poonam's husband Sanjeev, an engineer working with a private company, his brother Ravi and father Ved Prakash.
A Sub-Divisional Magistrate inquiry has also been ordered into the incident.
She got married with Sanjeev in 2000 and has no children.
