29 taken ill due to food poisoning

Twenty-nine children were taken ill after eating food at an Islamic seminary in Mendhar town of Poonch district, official sources said on Tuesday.

Soon after eating dinner on Monday night, the children started vomiting and complained of stomach pain and most of them fell unconscious. They were later taken to a hospital.

The condition of the children is now stable; police said adding a case has been registered and food samples taken for examination.
