3 NLFT rebels surrender after gunning fellow cadres

Three cadres of National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) surrendered in South Tripura on Monday night after gunning down three of their men, police said on Tuesday.

Three Bangladesh trained extremists shot dead their fellow men at a hideout in Killa in south Tripura and managed to escape, police said.

Later, they surrendered to the Superintendent of Police, Arvinder Singh.

The militants deposited one AK 56 rifle, two Self Loading Rifles (SLR), eight loaded magazine and a huge cache of bullets and sharp weapons.

The ultras told the police many of the extremists want to come back to the mainstream but the leaders of the outfit prevent them from doing so.

Meanwhile, police has recovered the bodies of the killed NLFT militants from a jungle.
