The most recent case is that of an MBA student who was robbed of his mobile phone on Thursday by three motocycle-borne youths, who were also armed. Kapil Kumar said the youths had a knife with them.
"I got off the bus and was walking towards my institute when three youths forced me to stop. One of them punched me and forced me to kneel. They snatched my mobile phone and wallet," he told the police. Soon after the robbery, he went to the nearest police post and gave them the registration numbers of the motorcycles.
On Wednesday night, two more snatching incidents were reported at Kasna Police Station. Motorcycle-borne youths robbed a gold chain, gold ring and a mobile phone from college professor Narender Kumar. B tech student Jatin Rastogi’s mobile phone was also snatched by some youths. Both have lodged complaints at Kasna Police Station.
