This was informed at the Samadhan Online Programme in which Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated from New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister was in New Delhi to participate in a meeting of chief ministers on Naxalism and terrorism convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

He regularly conducts such programmes on first Tuesday of the month to resolve people’s grievances and keep up the tradition.

Chouhan spoke to the collectors and complainants of 12 districts from New Delhi through video-conferencing. He also spoke to officials at the Mantralaya and Chief Executive Officer at Katni district collectorate.

Principal Secretary of School Education I S Dani informed during a review of the recruitment of contract teachers that about 21,000 selected candidates recruited against about 51,000 posts of contractual teachers have assumed their duties.

About 30,000 have not joined duty as yet. This has happened due to selection of single candidates for more than one posts. The PS said the remaining contractual teachers would be recruited from waiting lists in districts.

The Chief Minister also took up several individual cases and directed their prompt disposal. These included the land-related case of Suchitra Gore of Dhaulpurkala in Harda and delay in disbursement of pension to Ashok Kumar Shrivastava, a retired school principal of Raipura in Panna.

Commissioner, Public Instructions, L S Baghel said the case of Shrivastava would be disposed off within 15 days. The Chief Minister issued instructions for action against officials for less payment in a case of sanction of Rs 50,000 to Kashram Kori Madhipura in Bhind, who has received only Rs 13,000.

On the complaint of Phulchand Rawat of Bhopal, he directed the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal, to arrest the murder accused. Rawat’s nephew said that despite a court decision the accused has not been arrested.

Chouhan expressed displeasure over the slow progress of disposal of complaints in the Agriculture and Water Resources Departments.

Principal Secretaries concerned said that complaints would be redressed within a fixed time limit.
