300 protesters booked for obstructing Maya's visit

Police in Ghazipur have registered an FIR against 300 protestors for blocking traffic during the visit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Police in Ghazipur have registered an FIR against 300 protestors for blocking traffic during the visit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

The protestors stalled traffic at Saidpur and Nandganj near here and also damaged public property protesting over death of a person in a road accident on February 24, police said on Saturday.

The FIR has been registered on directions of the Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar, sources said.

The unruly mob damaged public transport buses and also attacked policemen during the violent agitation.
