35 injured as terrace of school collapses

Thirty-five children were today seriously injured, six of them critical, after the terrace of a private school collapsed in Pahasu town in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar district.

Thirty-five children were today seriously injured, six of them critical, after the terrace of a private school collapsed in Pahasu town in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar district.

"Students of standard-I were sitting on the terrace of Saraswati Gyan Mandir Vidyalaya when it collapsed all of a sudden, injuring 35 seriously," acting SSP Ganganath Tripathi said in Bulandshahar.

All the injured were aged between 6 and 7 years, he said, adding that the school was housed in a dilapidated building.

The school director Devendra Kumar and principal Ajay Kumar were absconding, Tripathi said.
